The Met Office has issued another new weather warning for ice and snow affecting Northern Ireland.
The weather forecaster issued the yellow warning on Wednesday morning, January 8, and advised we can expect “snow and icy patches leading to some disruption to travel”.
It has been issued for four counties with the warning in place from 4pm on January 8 until 11am on January 9. The warning is in place for counties Antrim, Fermanagh, Derry and Tyrone.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Showers of rain and sleet near coasts, and snow inland, will continue to affect the north and west of Northern Ireland this evening, overnight and into Thursday morning.
“As surfaces fall below freezing, this will lead to some icy stretches on untreated surfaces, while a few cm of fresh snow could affect some areas, mainly places above about 100 metres.”
As for what we can expect from the weather warning, they added:
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
