Much-loved Leicestershire Northern Soul night to return ‘bigger and better’

A Northern Soul event at a Leicestershire nightclub that was deemed a “great success” is set to return this year. ‘Tiffany’s Night’ at The Emporium in Coalville is going to be back “bigger and better this time”, according to organisers.

The Tiffany’s Motown and Northern Soul nights were a big attraction at Coalville’s Grand Ballroom – now The Emporium – in the 1970s. The “much-loved” evening returned for a special one-off night in August last year, the first time it had been held in nearly 50 years.

This time however, with another event earmarked for February, it is set to undergo a few changes. Extra seating and “bistro sized tables” around the venue will “free up” space around the dancefloor, the venue’s upstairs balcony will be open with seating and bistro tables, and a number of new DJs are set to appear.

These include Ozz Osborne who has appeared at the “most famous” northern soul event in Spain, ‘Costa Del Soul’. Mike Hollis, known for shows on Radio Luxembourg, Smooth, Jazzfm, will also appear alongside Richard John and another original Tiffany’s DJ Rob Gray.

The event will also have a room two with the best in ska, reggae, and 2-tone. The event is set to take place on Saturday, February 1, from 7pm until 1am.

Tickets can be bought in advance from Skiddle, but will also be available on the door from £10.
