Mountain of rubbish left on Coventry city centre street dubbed ‘rats heaven’

Bags of rubbish left on Coventry city centre street have been dubbed a ‘rats heaven’. Passers-by recoiled when they spotted the pile of bags opposite Pool Meadow Bus Station close to the Britannia Hotel.

Stacked on top of each other, rubbish was seen spilling out of the bags onto the street. It left one local shocked and demanding the city council take action to remove it.

“It’s disgusting and dangerous,” said the local resident, who did not want to be named. “It is an absolute disgrace.

“It’s a rats heaven and fire hazard.”
