Police in North Lanarkshire allegedly seized over £100,000 worth of cocaine in an evening raid on Hogmanay.
Officers raided a premises under warrant on Hamilton Road in Motherwell at around 7pm on Tuesday, December 31. Inside, police allegedly discovered a huge quantity of cocaine.
The quantity of drugs was estimated to have a street value of around £105,000. A 26-year-old man was arrested.
He has since been charged in connection with the discovery. The man was remanded into custody and is expected to appear in court today (Friday, January 3).
Sergeant Steven Brown: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and the public has an important role to play in helping Police Scotland target those responsible for the sale and supply of illegal substances”.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Over £100,000 worth of drugs have been recovered in North Lanarkshire. Around 7pm on Tuesday, 31 December 2024 officers searched a premises under warrant at Hamilton Road in Motherwell.
“Cocaine with an estimated street value of around £105,000 was seized from within. A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and was held in custody to appear at court on Friday 3rd January 2025.
