Moment ‘robber enters Edinburgh shop with pole’ and terrifies worker

Edinburgh police are investigating after CCTV appeared to show the moment a man dressed in black robbed a convenience store.

The alleged incident took place on Friday January 10 at around 6.50pm with footage of the Londis store incident circulating online.

In a clip, shared on Facebook, a man can be seen entering the Easter Road shop with a pole shaped object in his hand.

Items are scattered across the ground as he makes his way towards the cashier with the object above his head.

The shop worker can then be seen opening the till and handing over what is believed to be cash.

Officers have confirmed they are investigating the incident after they received a report of a robbery at the convenience store at around 9pm on Friday 10.

It is understood no one was injured during the disturbance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing into a robbery at a convenience store on Easter Road, Edinburgh on Friday, 10 January 2025.

“The incident happened around 6.50pm and was reported to police around 9pm.

“No one was injured.”
