Met Office forecasts snow in next 24 hours as Coventry braces for -5C blast

The Met Office has forecast snow in the Midlands in the next 24 hours as Coventry braces for a -5C blast. In the latest online forecast it predicts some hill snow for our region tomorrow (January 10).

It comes as bone-chilling temperatures continue to dominate. They could reach as low as -5C across Coventry and Warwickshire tonight (January 9).

They are set to remain sub-zero into tomorrow morning with highs of just 2C expected in the day. Freezing fog is forecast as we head into the weekend.

Today

A frosty start with freezing fog patches stubbornly clearing. A few wintry showers pushing into the north. Brighter through the afternoon with sunny spells. Feeling cold, but pleasant in the sun. Maximum temperature 4C.

Tonight

Showers fading to leave a dry night with light winds. Turning very cold under widespread clear skies with a severe frost, freezing fog patches and icy stretches developing. Minimum temperature -5C.

Friday

A bright start away from lingering freezing fog. Cloud building throughout the day with isolated outbreaks of rain, and perhaps hill snow, in the southwest. Another cold day. Maximum temperature 2C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday

Rather cloudy on Saturday with patchy rain possible. Sunnier spells on Sunday and Monday after freezing fog clears. Generally cold over the weekend but turning milder into the new week.
