Coventry is set to be hit by ‘disruptive’ ice, fog, and snow, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for this weekend. Conditions will be turning increasingly ‘unsettled.’
Forecasters at the Met Office have issued a heavy snow and ice warning for much of the UK, including Coventry and Warwickshire. It runs from 12pm on Saturday (January 4) until 11.59pm on Sunday (January 5).
Travellers have been warned it could be ‘treacherous’ with ice and freezing fog expected across England and Wales. Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys ahead.

Snow is expected to start falling in Coventry and Warwickshire from 8pm on Saturday (January 4). Temperatures are set to plunge to as low as -8C, according to the Met Office.
Many woke up to frosty car windows this morning (January 3), prompting a warning from West Midlands Police. Thieves are likely to take advantage of people leaving their vehicles to defrost on driveways, as reported by CoventryLive.
Officers said when they were patrolling Rosslyn Avenue in Coundon this morning (January 3), they found two cars defrosting with the engines running. Motorists have been urged not to leave their vehicles unattended.
Coventry City Council has also activated its Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP). It means that people sleeping rough in the city will be offered emergency accommodation this weekend.
