A Mercedes driver will have to retake his test after being stopped by police on the M6. Officers from Warwickshire Police’s Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) clocked the car on the the M6 Southbound near Corley Services in the early hours of Boxing Day.
They said that the driver, who has not been identified, caught their attention due to the manner of his driving. They said the driver failed a roadside breath test and had no insurance cover to drive the vehicle.
He was arrested and the team seized the car. In custody the driver provided an evidential sample below the legal limit for charging to court.
