Meghan Markle’s Instagram return could boost her net worth by $100 million, expert predicts

Meghan Markle’s return to Instagram could potentially boost her net worth by millions, according to a social media expert. The Duchess of Sussex surprised fans with her New Year’s Day comeback on the platform after a five-year break, amassing 752,000 followers so far.

Her inaugural post featured a video of herself sprinting towards the ocean before etching ‘2025’ in the sand. She chose a black and white photo of herself smiling for her profile picture, accompanied by a simple bio: “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”

As her follower count continues to rise, Tom South, Director of Organic and Web (Marketing) at Epos Now, predicts that Meghan’s earnings could skyrocket rapidly. He said: “Considering her celebrity status, global influence, and personal branding as a modern royal turned advocate for social causes, she can definitely mint a lot of money.”

He added that her potential Instagram valuation could already surpass $10million, considering her current follower count, rapid growth rate, and ability to attract luxury, lifestyle, and philanthropic brands. If her follower count exceeds 10 million – a likely scenario given her visibility and media traction – her account’s worth could easily reach the $50-$100 million range, reports the Express US.

This includes potential revenue from sponsored posts, exclusive partnerships, and brand collaborations with purpose-driven campaigns.

Tom reckons that Meghan’s current popularity could allow her to demand between $100,000 and $250,000 for a single post, which could soon escalate to $1million or more. Furthermore, the expert suggests that the Duchess of Sussex’s knack for blending luxury with advocacy could revolutionise the world of “influencing”, creating a platform that serves both profit and purpose.

“Her comeback hints at the potential of becoming a hybrid influencera person who can combine influence with impact,” he further elaborated. He said that Meghan is different from conventional influencers in that she has the power to shift entire dialogues around social justice, mental health, and gender equality, positioning her more as a culture shaper than a product endorser.

The Sussexes are estimated to have a combined wealth of £48-60million. Since renouncing their senior Royal roles and relocating to America in 2020, they have embarked on several projects, both jointly and individually.

In their collaborative endeavour, they starred in their own Netflix series chronicling their Royal lives and the events following their departure. More recently, Meghan is focusing on launching her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, as well as a new Netflix show centred on “the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship”, according to Deadline.
