Meet the bundles of joy that helped bring in the New Year on Teesside

New parents on Teesside had double reason to celebrate New Year’s Day as bundles of joy arrived.

While people partied across the country little Lucifer, Albie and Octavia were among the babies to be born on January 1 to welcome in a New Year. The trio all made their appearance at James Cook University Hospital to delighted parents, helped by the dedicated staff during the Bank Holiday.

In total eight babies were born at James Cook University Hospital and a further three babies came into the world at the University Hospital of North Tees.

Of this trio Albie James Harrison was the first to arrive at 3.30am, weighing in at 6lb 5oz. He was welcomed by his proud parents, Daniel Harrison and Zoe Womack from Saltburn.

Albie was followed by Octavia Golden, who made her debut at 4.53am, tipping the scales at 8lb 15oz, ,an addition to the family of Sharrona and Michal from Middlesbrough.

Later in the day at 12.55pm, Lucifer Gary Bell arrived, weighing 7lbs 11oz, a son for Stefan Wake and Jessica Bell from Redcar.
