Meet the adorable New Year baby born at Nuneaton’s George Eliot Hospital

The New Year was made extra special for parents-to-be when they welcomed new bundles of joy at Nuneaton’s hospital. The start of 2025 saw new families made at the George Eliot Hospital.

Among the New Year’s Day arrivals was little Delilah June Wall. She was among the first babies to be born at the maternity unit as the New Year started.

She was born at 12.10am, weighing 3360g. “We wish Delilah, her parents Chloe and Ciaran and everyone else a happy and healthy year ahead.” the hospital said.

The news about the new arrivals comes as the ‘Eliot continued to see high demand on its Accident and Emergency unit. After a busy festive season, with December 27 seeing almost 300 people arrive at A&E for help, pressure continued on the staff into the New Year.

Latest figures given to CoventryLive show that on New Year’s Eve, a total of 264 people needed A&E treatment. Onto New Year’s Day and there were 226 attendances at the local unit.

As a result of the ongoing pressure on staff, the hospital is urging people to only attend A&E in an emergency. They are being urged to call 111 to get advice before heading down to the hospital.
