Meet BBC’s The Traitors season three cast including Cornwall local and ‘natural liar’

With 25 new contestants set to storm The Traitors castle, host Claudia Winkleman has admitted to nerves about the third series of the BBC sensation, particularly concerning how it’ll be received in light of the massive success of its predecessors.

The beloved BBC presenter shared her concerns, saying: “We are totally terrified because the success of the first one blew our socks off, we didn’t expect it.”

Her enthusiasm for the show remains unwavering, as she noted: “But I just love making it so much it’s such an honour to be in that round table and to see how it unfolds. You just don’t want people to be disappointed because the people who like it are so vocal and fantastic.”

Despite the pressure, Claudia remains optimistic that the new line-up will entertain viewers as much as before, even though she admited: “They’re not better than Harry, but they’re as good.”

Claudia, who is 53, also spoke about a poignant moment during the shoot when she was moved to tears by a contestant’s exit, jokingly questioning if her reaction was “a bit unhealthy”. These candid remarks came at a recent screening event, following on from the grand finale of Strictly Come Dancing, where she conceded to being apprehensive about how the upcoming series will be perceived by fans, reports the Mirror.

Claudia revealed her superstitious side, as she admitted: “I’m so superstitious. I won’t exhale until January 24. I woke up at 4am. Even though on Saturday we were talking about people’s cha-chas, in my head I was thinking, ‘Will they like the Traitors?'”

The BBC1 hit, premiering tonight, remains cutting-edge by introducing new features every time it graces our screens. Claudia wittily responded to how the show stays fresh, saying: “I can’t take any credit, I just turn up, extra orange.”
