Man hospitalised after huge A127 crash between car and lorry near Brentwood

A man has been hospitalised following a huge crash on thr A127 near Brentwood this morning (January 3). The crash lead to the A127 being blocked, impacting eastbound traffic.

Traffic reporting system INRIX said that there had been an incident involving a car and a lorry on the busy Essex A-road near West Horndon. There was slow traffic as a result of the crash, which was first reported at around 11am.

There was severe traffic from M25 J29 (Romford/Basildon) to A128 Tilbury Road (Halfway House Roundabout). It has now been confirmed that a man was sent to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital following the crash.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.10am to a road traffic collision on the A127 near West Horndon. An ambulance and ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene. An adult man was transported to Basildon & Thurrock Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

Essex Police confirmed that they made no arrests at the scene.
