A man has sadly been pronounced dead after a medical emergency on Canvey Island. Residents reported seeing an air ambulance landing in Sandy Bay, Canvey, earlier today (January 2).
Essex Police were called to Beverley Avenue at about 12:25pm today after residents reported seeing a person suffering a medical emergency. The road was then closed while emergency services worked.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: “We were called to reports of a person suffering a medical emergency in Beverley Avenue, Canvey, at around 12.25pm on Thursday 2 January. A road closure was put in place while emergency services responded.
“Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed. His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a medical emergency on Beverley Avenue in Canvey Island. An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle, rapid response vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. Sadly, an adult man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
