Man charged with causing the deaths of NI father and son in crash

A man has been charged with causing death by dangrous driving after two men were killed and a woman injured in a collision in Killylea.

The 32-year-old is due to appear at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 3, where he faces two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, and one count of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, following the collision on Friday, December 27.

Father and son, Peter and Loughlin Devlin, died following the two vehicle collision involving an an Audi and a Mercedes, which took place on the Killylea Road in Co Armagh.

A woman who was injured in the collision remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit have charged a man to court following a collision in Killylea, County Armagh on Friday 27 th December.

“The man, aged 32, has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, and one count of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.

“He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday 3 rd January. As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
