Man charged over triple stabbing in Birmingham on New Year’s Eve

A man has been charged after a triple stabbing in Birmingham on New Year’s Eve. It follows two women, aged 18 and 20, and a 25-year-old man being knifed in Hodge Hill.

Earl Johnson, 65, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and two counts of possession of a knife following a horror incident on Doncaster Way on December 31. He is due to appear in court later today.

The 20-year-old victim remains in a serious condition in hospital.

West Midlands Police said in a statement: “A man has been charged with attempted murder after two women and a man were stabbed in Birmingham on New Year’s Eve (31 Dec). Earl Johnson, aged 65, has been charged with three counts of attempt murder and two counts of possession of a knife.

“Johnson from Birmingham is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today. This comes after two women, aged 18 and 20 and a 25-year-old man were attacked on Doncaster Way, Hodge Hill. The 20-year-old woman remains in a serious condition in hospital.”
