A man has been charged after a bus ‘struck a railway bridge’ leaving eight people injured and one person fighting for their life.
Emergency services scrambled to Cook Street, in the southside, following the incident which took place just before 6pm on Saturday, December 14.
Officers were called to a report of a bus colliding with a railway bridge. A 57-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
He has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.
We previously reported how eight people were left injured, and one person in critical condition.
A number of roads were closed following the incident, close to the O2 Academy. Cook Street was closed at Centre Street, Commerce Street closed up to Wallace Street, and Salkeld Street at Cook Street.

Several train services were also cancelled.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 57-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a crash on Cook Street, Glasgow.
“Police were called around 5.55pm on Saturday, 14 December, 2024 to a report of a bus colliding with a railway bridge on Cook Street.
“The man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences . He has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date.”
