Man arrested after ‘barricading’ himself in Clydebank flat as police officers injured

A man has been arrested after allegedly barricading himself in a high rise flat and setting a fire this morning (Monday, January 13).

Two police officers were injured in the incident. The 45-year-old man allegedly escaped through a window before being arrested a short time later.

Police said officers attended Littleholm Place in Clydebank with an arrest warrant for the man around 11.30am. But officers said the man “barricaded himself within the flat” and a fire was allegedly set.

The man left through a window and was arrested a short time later, police said. Five fire engines were mobilised to the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am, on Monday, 13 January, 2025, officers attended a flat in Littleholm Place, Clydebank to execute an arrest warrant. The 45-year-old man barricaded himself within the flat and a fire was set.

“He left through a window and was arrested a short time later. Two officers were injured in the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.36am on Monday, January 13, to support our partners on Littleholm Place in Clydebank. Operations control mobilised five appliances to the scene.”
