A Plymouth man is set to appear at court today after he was arrested in connection with two burglaries in Torpoint.
Officers were alerted to the burglary of a garage in Lamorna Park on the evening of January 13 [Monday] where the culprit forced their way in and took bottles of alcohol.
A short while later the door of a residential property across the road from the garage was opened but on this instance the culprit fled after a dog began to bark at the intruder.
Inquiries by detectives resulted in Carl Thorpe being arrested and taken to Charles Cross police station custody suite for interview by officers from Plymouth police’s Priority Crime Team.
Thorpe, aged 40 and of no fixed abode, but from Plymouth, was later charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of theft from motor vehicles in Trevol business park, Torpoint where he is alleged to have stolen a set of car keys and a remote.
He was remanded into custody and will appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court today.
