Man accused of hiding £50,000 and two kilos of cocaine in secret car compartment in West London

A man has been found with £50,000 and two kilos of cocaine in a “sophisticated” hide in the boot of the car he was driving. Gleni Goleci, 27, will appear at Isleworth Crown Court on February 6.

Mr Goleci, an Albanian national, was stopped by National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police Officers on High Street, Brentford on January 7. A search of the vehicle he was driving found 2 kilos of cocaine and around £50,000 of cash in a “sophisticated” hide in the car boot.

A further six kilos of cocaine and around £150k in cash was then found at a flat in Brentford. Mr Goleci was arrested and charged with “drugs and possession of criminal property offences.”

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (January 9) and was remanded into custody before his next appearance at Isleworth Crown Court.

Andrew Tickner, NCA Operations Manager from the Organised Crime Partnership, said: “These seizures mean that it will now be impossible for the organised crime group behind this trade to reinvest their profits into further criminality and exploitation.

“The NCA and Metropolitan Police continue to work in partnership to detect and apprehend individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking that is impacting London communities.”
