A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson explained that National Highways closed the stretch of motorway so that the vehicles could be moved.
“At 12.43pm on Thursday 2 January, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call requesting assistance at a road traffic collision on the M6 Southbound carriageway Junction 3 to Junction 2. On arrival, crews saw three private motor vehicles, two facing the correct way and one the incorrect way, and one HGV.
“No persons were trapped, and no persons were injured. National Highways initiated a full closure of this southbound section of road, and all vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder without the need of equipment. West Midlands Fire Service were also in attendance, and an Ambulance was also on the scene but left as not required.”
