Brilliant photos taken 20 years ago and unearthed from our archive capture life in Liverpool back 2005. We’re now a few weeks in 2025 and for many, it’s hard to believe that the 00s were two decades ago.
So far this month, the ECHO has taken a look at Liverpool life in 1995, as well as in 1985, in 1975, in 1965, in 1955 and back even further at what life was like here 100 years ago in 1925.
But we couldn’t not do 2005. For context, 2005 was the year band Gorillaz released hit song Feel Good Inc, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire hit cinemas and Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League in Istanbul.
