We’re now a few days into the new year and as 2025 gets underway, we’ve decided to delve into the archives to revisit life in the city in 1985. For many, the 80s doesn’t feel that long ago, but it’s now been 40 years since these fascinating photographs were taken.
For context, 1985 was the year The Goonies hit cinemas, band A-ha released their hit song Take On Me and celebrities Keira Knightley and Lewis Hamilton were born. Courtesy of our archives Mirrorpix, these photos offer a fascinating glimpse into Liverpool life at the time.
