A Limitless Win contestant who said he sometimes has just “£5 – £10 a week to live off” was left in tears after a “life changing” win.
Aaron and David ‘cashed out’ with £75,000 following what presenter Ant McPartlin called “an emotional rollercoaster” of a show. The couple left the show in tears at the thought of how they would spend the money.
“It’s just life changing money”, said David, adding: “We’ve started the adoption process, we have a house that needs a lot of work done to it, I don’t earn a lot of money as a postman. Sometimes we have £5 – £10 a week to live off.”
The couple won the money after Ant and Dec secured them an exact answer on a question about Queen’s song ‘We will Rock You’.
The question read: “At the start of the Queen hit single ‘We will Rock You’, how many stomps and claps are there in total before the singing starts?”
Aaron and David guessed the answer was 12.
However, Ant and Dec doubled it after the contestants chose to use their ‘take two’ lifeline, which takes one answer from the players and one from the presenters and accepts the closest to the correct answer.
Ant and Dec jumped for joy after entering an exact answer and banking £75,000 for the couple, who were reduced to tears at the news.
Ant, who said he was confident of the answer after performing it on the Geordie duo’s Saturday Night Takeaway show, said: “I knew all of those rehearsals for the end of the show show on Saturday Night Takeaway would pay off one day.”
Seeing how emotional the couple were at the win, he added: “It’s big money, we get it”.
