Lily Allen has checked into a trauma clinic in the US after her brutal split with husband, David Harbour, according to reports.
The Hard Out There star, 39, is said to have called it quits with the Stranger Things actor, 49, last month after admitting she ‘wasn’t in a good place’ on her podcast with pal, Miquita Oliver.
Neither Lily nor David have commented publicly on their split, but reports now suggest the mum-of-two has decided to seek help at a residential retreat in America as she deals with her “spiralling” mental health.
Revealing the singer took a short holiday before returning to the couple’s marital home in New York last week, a source claims the star was “triggered” by David after discovering he was using celebrity dating app, Raya – which is how the couple met back in 2019.

They told the Mail: “It was very painful for Lily to return home. David used to be her saviour and now he’s a trigger for her. Lily settled her kids back into the family home and took them to school for their new term, then flew herself straight to rehab. She went a day earlier than intended as she felt wobbly and desperate to escape.”
Revealing the singer will spend more than a month at the £8,000 a week clinic, they continued: “She will spend several weeks at the residential retreat in the US where she is expected to take part in intensive group counselling sessions and one-on-one therapy in which she will be urged to ‘unpack’ her emotions.”
It comes after Lily admitted her mental health was “spiralling and spiralling” on her podcast with Miquita, which the Smile singer has currently stepped away from.
In the same episode, Lily said she had a panic attack over Christmas and admitted fleeing a London stage play she was watching during the interval because she was unable to “concentrate on anything except the pain I’m going through”.
Lily is said to have “pegged her hopes of a better life on her husband” – who plays heroic police chief Jim Hopper in Netflix’s Stranger Things – following past drink and drugs issues.
A source told the outlet: “Everyone thinks David is the steady one and Lily is the crazy head-case. But the reality is that Lily was calmer and more grounded than she’s ever been – until she discovered that her marriage was unexpectedly over. She is taking the responsible course of action with a trip to a retreat to get her head straight.”
Though Lily and David didn’t meet in person, the couple were reportedly in touch briefly last week to arrange for the actor to look after his stepdaughters Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 13, in their mum’s absence. He is close to the girls, who are said to adore him and know little of what has happened regarding his relationship with Lily.
