Jordan Abdull’s Hull FC exit confirmed as halfback seeks new club

Hull FC have confirmed the departure of Jordan Abdull. Hull Live broke the story that the Black and Whites have parted company with the half-back last week, who signed a three-year deal from the 2025 season.

However, that deal is now over, with an agreement made between all parties that sees the 28-year-old, who has struggled with his fitness this pre-season, leave his second spell at the club before playing a game.

Abdull is currently exploring his options for the future, having joined Hull from Hull KR, albeit after a loan spell with Catalans Dragons. He first debuted for the club back in 2014 and also spent a year at London Broncos.

Posting an official statement confirming the players departure, the club wrote: “ Hull FC can confirm that Jordan Abdull has departed the club with immediate effect. The club have taken the decision to release the player from the remainder of his contract at the MKM Stadium to allow him to explore opportunities elsewhere in the game.

“The club wishes Jordan all the very best for his future in Rugby League and beyond.”

Meanwhile, Hull are on the lookout for a replacement for Abdull. They have shown interest in Salford Red Devils half-back Marc Sneyd, although no deal has yet materialised, with the Red Devils set to be forced into player sales in the imminent future. Leigh Leopards also understood to be in for Sneyd.

Elsewhere, Hull have Cade Cust to call on, with Callum Kemp and Jack Charles both in the first-team squad. The Black and Whites are in action for the first time in 2025 on February 1, travelling to Castleford Tigers for Joe Westerman’s testimonial match.
