All employees of a hot tub firm have been made redundant after it fell into administration, marking the end of 16 years of business. MySpa UK, set up by father and son Peter and Andrew Wroot, has now appointed liquidators after its final day of trading on December 17, 2024.
The business had been an award-winning, family-run hot tub installation, servicing and repair firm. The company had an average number of 19 employees in the years between 2020 and 2022 across its offices.
The MySpa Derbyshire office was based on Chequers Lane, Chaddesden, Derby, and had an extensive showroom where people could come and explore options for their new hot tubs.
The firm announced its liquidation on its website. It said: “We regret to inform you that MySpa UK Ltd has made the difficult decision to cease trading and enter liquidation due to ongoing market challenges. We are working with Dean Nelson from PKF Smith Cooper, who will oversee the liquidation process and handle all outstanding matters.
“Tuesday, 17th December 2024, is our final day of trading. There will be further details for customers requiring warranty assistance in due course. Customers with direct debits and or standing orders in place should cancel these directly with their banks immediately. We sincerely appreciate your support over the years and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding.”
The hot tub business opened its first flagship shop in Derby in 2022 after taking over the property from one of its old suppliers. This new addition to the company’s showrooms came after the company found success in its Rutland and Cheshire showrooms.
