James McClean’s daughter in A&E dash to undergo emergency surgery

Footballer James McClean’s youngest daughter is recovering at home after she was rushed to hospital following an accident.

The Derry man’s wife Erin took to social media to share the news and thank Alder Hey Hospital for the care they provided to her daughter Mia who will be two next month.

The former Derry City winger, now lives in England and plays for the club owned by Hollywood pair Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhinney, Wrexham FC.

Posting a photo of their daughter on her Instagram story, Erin said: “Talk about a dramatic 24 hours… Got her little finger stuck under the door and ripped her nail and tip of finger half off.

“So a trip to A&E last night with a referral to Alder Hey then to have surgery this morning to fix it.

“My heart was sore she was in so much pain.”

Erin said that there was “no better place for her” and reassured her followers that Mia is now at home recovering on the sofa with her “bobo, maisy teddy and cuddles.”

She also thanked the staff and said that Alder Hey is a “fantastic hospital”.

“As much as watching Mia go to sleep for surgery broke my heart, that place really makes me so aware and thankful to have four healthy, happy kids.

“Your health really is your wealth and kids are just too precious.”

Back in October Erin also shared that Mia had to be taken to hospital with what appeared to be a nasty cut to her head.
