ITV aired the final episode of its popular long-running crime drama Vera and loyal fans have been left feeling emotional that it will not return for another series.
DCI Vera Stanhope, played by Brenda Blethyn, returned to our TV screens and during tonight’s gripping episode, viewers saw an investigation that focused on a missing teenager named Chloe and her team to a high-stakes showdown during a ‘Witch Hunt’ festival in a village from her past.
While some viewers were gripped by the intense case at hand, many couldn’t help but share their reaction to the show coming to an end.
One viewer wrote on X, formally known as Twitter: “An end of an era for our Vera. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching over the last 14 years, and I can’t believe she’s not doing anymore series! She’s definitely my favourite sleuth! #Vera.”
