Residents have told of their shock after a gunman on a motorbike opened fire on a quiet cul-de-sac in Salford.
Police are searching for a shooter, or possible more than one offender, who peppered a home on Queen Street in Little Hulton with bullets on Friday evening. Images from the scene appear to show three bullet holes in a window of the first-floor flat.
Speaking on Saturday, residents told of their shock and confusion. One, who asked not to be named, said: “We were in town and when we got back police said there had been gunshots.
“I’ve lived here six years and this is a very normal street. I’ve got a 12-year-old son. When I answered the door just now he told me to be careful. It’s worrying.”
It’s not clear how many people live at the flat or if they were home at the time of the shooting, which took place at 5.55pm. Neighbours told of police going door-to-door enquiring about witnesses and CCTV footage.

Forensic officers were working at the scene this morning and an e-bike could be seen just inside an open door to the property. No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.
It’s believed the shooting is thought to be a ‘standalone’ incident, rather than retaliation for a previous incident.
Det Insp Justin Bryant described the attack as ‘targeted’ and appealed for witnesses to come forward. He said: “This incident will undoubtedly cause concern for those who live and work in the Little Hulton, and Salford as a whole.

“We strongly believe that this incident was targeted, with no wider threats to the public. Officers will be present in the area to reassure our local communities and are there to listen to any of your concerns.
“Your information, no matter how small you think it may seem, could prove invaluable to our ongoing investigation.”
