Ireland’s Fittest Family confirms return date after tragic death of Dublin teen

Ireland’s Fittest Family is coming back to our screens this weekend following the tragic passing of young contestant Cillian Flaherty.

The RTE series, hosted by Laura Fox, was paused in October after the passing of the Blanchardstown teen. But the popular programme is set to return this Saturday, at a new time of 6.35pm.

The show has had to move from its usual Sunday slot due to a clash with Dancing with the Stars. Production company Animo TV announced: “Ireland’s Fittest Family is back for its 12th season on RTE One and RTE Player.

“Coaches Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary, Donncha O’Callaghan and Sonia O’Sullivan are back and looking to bring home the title this year.” Cillian, who was a third-year student at Blakestown Community School in Blanchardstown, died on October 20 last year at the age of 15.

Cillian competed in the series with his family when it was filmed last summer.
