Couple Nixon Cletus and Angel Tisajacob have realised a dream by opening their own fast food takeaway. They opened Cuisine Cart in the former Oatcake Station in Liverpool Road, Newcastle, this week and are hoping to become one of the most popular takeaways in the region.
Nixon, aged 34, of Newcastle, used to work in a care home in Uttoxeter, and is excited about his new business venture.
He told StokeonTrentLive: “I have always wanted to run my own business and am determined to make it a success.”
Dishes on the extensive menu include breakfasts, burgers, loaded fries, shawarma rolls, shawarma plates, kebabs, wraps, fish and chips, peri peri, omelettes and specials including chicken 65; egg bujji, Indian chicken fry and fried chicken.
The couple also sell a range of soft drinks and milkshakes including a mango shake.
Angel Tisajacob, 29, and Nixon Cletus, 34, have opened Cuisine Cart in Liverpool Road, Newcastle.
Mum-of-one Angel, aged 29, said: “We will be delivering leaflets across the area. We also offer a delivery service to customers.
“We have worked in a takeaway in India. We expect peri peri and fish and chips to be popular here as well as shawarmas. The shakes were also very popular in India.
“This is something we have always wanted to do. We are delighted to have opened and look forward to serving food to the people of Newcastle.”
Sherin Shiju, aged 26, of Newcastle, was one of the first customers to try the food. She said: “I bought peri peri and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming back.”
