Raven, the Acid Bath Princess of Darkness, who became an internet sensation 16 years ago, has left many wondering what she’s up to now.

She brought in 2009 alongside her friend Tara, sharing her thoughts on New Year’s Eve in a YouTube video that went viral. The clip, which has garnered over 2 million views and been shared across the internet for over a decade, sees the emo pair discussing their likes and dislikes. However, in a recent update, Raven, whose real name is Sarah, revealed the lesser-known facts behind the video, stating it was made as a joke.

Sarah, who was 19 at the time of filming the 2009 video, admits she spent much of her adult life denying the video due to fear of doxing. As a result, she and Tara, who is actually her sister, decided to keep their identities and involvement in the video secret to safeguard their personal lives.

This was particularly crucial for Sarah, who works as a dominatrix and posts videos on OF and AVNStars. Under the professional alias Petra Hunter, Sarah has authored two book series titled The Sissy Kit and Live To Obey.

Her Amazon author bio reads: “Petra Hunter is a professional Dominatrix based in Dallas, TX. She dominates eager men and women in person at her private dungeon, films FemDom and fetish clips, and plays remotely with playthings all over the world via phone calls and texting.”

“She runs a sissy-themed business, The Sissy Kit, and self-publishes FemDom erotica and humiliation assignments. She’s a fan of mockumentaries, befriending stray cats, and a tightly-laced corset.” When discussing how she developed the characters, she revealed: “Tara and Raven were a loving, loving parody of who I used to be.”

“YouTube was really new at the time and I wanted a career related to comedy. I had recently discovered 4chan and so I had started to become familiar with trolling. As someone who was formerly a very cringey emo/mall goth type of person, I knew that I could troll these people by playing a much elevated version of my former self.”

In the viral video, Raven says in an exasperated tone: “Hey. Sup. I’m Raven, your acid bath princess of the darkness. We’re sitting here in Tara’s room rocking out to MCR and celebrating 2009 or New Year. We don’t really understand why people are making such a big deal about it because really one more year is one more year that everybody is closer to death. Whatever. Suit yourself, humanity.”

The girls then share a list of their dislikes, stating they don’t like “preps, jocks, haters and Davey Havok’s new hair”. However, the duo “love being goth” as well as the movie series Twilight and its main character Edward Cullen. They’re buzzing after their local shopping centre opened a New Topic store, perfect for snapping up gift cards from relatives. The emo icons gushed that rock bands AFI and My Chemical Romance “saved their lives”.

Wrapping up the video, they gave a shout-out of gratitude to their YouTube supporters. Gobsmacked fans spouted love for their clip on YouTube, couldn’t hide their awe. “This video is a masterpiece, that’s the only way to describe it,” one viewer raved.

Another was hung up on the duo, noting: “I’ll never get over how Raven had this whole title and Tara was just Tara.” And a third fan got nostalgic saying: “This is such a precious piece of world history from the year AD 2009.” Off to Facebook, the buzz didn’t stop with a user typing out: “Where are they now? I need to know. Raven the Acid Bath Princess of Darkness. If anyone knows I need an update video. Been following this since the beginning.”
