Will continued: “Number one would be the Cane Corso. I absolutely love mastiff breeds. Of all the mastiff breeds, for me I would be torn between the English mastiff and the Cane Corso.

“If I had to choose, I would probably go Cane Corso for slightly less of an issue around common health issues and slightly increased athleticism. It just lets them enjoy walks more.

“Next up would be the German shepherd – one of the best dog breeds to train and one of the best all-around dog breeds. They cans turn their hand to absolutely anything.

“Downside for them is they are prone to be quite excessive barkers, so bear this is mind if you’re not ready for that. That could become an issue for you in the future.

“Last but not least – and this is the reality if I could only ever choose one breed it would be the Labrador retriever. For me, the king of all dog breeds.”

While these particular breeds are Will’s favourites to work with, we’d like to remind you that he is a professional. Always do your research before adopting one of your own.

Some dogs, such as the Cane Corso and German shepherd, require rigorous training. They are larger breeds and need to be handled with caution, so they may not be the right fit for first-time dog owners.

Like with any pet, it’s important to always consider the factors before getting one. If you don’t have adequate time to put the work in with your dog, they’re probably not the furry companion for you.
