Police have issued an update into the investigation regarding the suspicious yellow man in Kilrea as the hunt for him continues.
The yellow man was spotted on the Vow Road at around 12.30am on December 27, by Gerard McFerran who posted a video on social media after questioning him on why he was dressed in a long yellow coat, with yellow trousers and boots, along with a white mask and black wig.
There had been claims online that the man was armed at the time of the incident, however Gerard said that this was online speculation and that he did not believe he had a weapon.

Following the incident police increased patrols in the Kilrea, Rasharkin and Dunloy areas, and there have also been reports that the man was seen in Portglenone.
Police have since spoken with a number of witnesses regarding the sightings of the man, however to date the individual has not been located.
The force has also warned against social media speculation regarding the yellow man, saying that it has caused increased fear among younger school-aged children.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Following reports of the so-called ‘yellow man’ in areas across Causeway Coast and Glens, local police have carried out many proactive patrols and have spoken to a number of witnesses however to date, the individual described has not been located.
“We are aware that the ‘yellow man’ has gained much traction on social media, giving rise to further claimed sightings online – which have not been reported to police.
“Whilst we understand that there is concern in the community, ongoing social media speculation and commentary, and the re-sharing of unsubstantiated information, is not helpful and indeed can cause increased fear, particularly amongst our younger school-aged populations.
“Before you post online, please consider the consequences your actions may have – no one wants to inadvertently generate unnecessary fear in our community.
“You will continue to see our officers on patrol to provide reassurance that we are committed to doing everything we can to make our community feel safe and be safe.
“If you have any concerns around behaviour that you consider suspicious, please report to local officers on 101, or online at.”
