Hull City boss delivers transfer update on Anthony Racioppi and Chris Bedia

Ruben Selles admits conversations will take place over the futures of Anthony Racioppi and Chris Bedia at Hull City after the pair were left out of Saturday’s squad against Leeds United.

Racioppi, who joined the club in the summer from Young Boys in Switzerland, has made just one appearance this season with that coming against Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup back in August and Hull Live understands may well move on this month, while Bedia has fallen behind Joao Pedro in the pecking order and could return to Union Berlin.

In his absence, Thimothee Lo-Tutala was named on the bench for the first time this season as back-up to Ivor Pandur, while Tyrell Sellars-Fleming was promoted to the matchday squad in the absence of Bedia.

“Well, it’s just my team selection, and I thought some other players could contribute more to the game, and then moving forward, of course, I need to have a couple of conversations with them, but I would prefer to have those conversations first and then make a statement to you,” Selles said when asked about their lack of involvement against the Whites, which saw the Tigers fight back from 3-1 down to stage a dramatic comeback thanks to goals from Joao Pedro and an Abu Kamara brace.

City remain hopeful of adding to their squad in the coming days, and certainly in advance of their next Championship outing at Millwall on January 18, and Selles says progress continues to be made.

“I think there is progress in those players, and it will be announced if it’s possible or closed and announced in the next two or three days. That’s my wish, and that’s what we are working for, but there is for me nothing to comment on right now.”

Meanwhile, Abdus Omur was omitted from the pulsating 3-3 draw with United because of illness and is expected to return to the squad for next Saturday’s home meeting with League Two side Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup.
