The devastated father of 17-year-old Max Greenhouse, who tragically died in a car crash, has issued a heartfelt plea and asked people to share his message.
The ‘adored’ teenager, who was a passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries after it left the carriageway and crashed with a farm building on Fir Tree Lane in Aughton. The tragic incident happened shortly after 9pm on December 11 and Max was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
In a poignant tribute issued after the incident, his family said: “Our beautiful boy, so much charisma and charm with a zest for life. Truly adored by all of your family and friends.
“Our hearts are broken, can’t believe we will never see your beautiful smiling face again. You will live on forever in our hearts.
“Max, you touched every heart with your genuine kindness, love and happiness. Never a bad word to say about anyone and we have been truly touched by the amount of tributes from your friends who have said that you were always there to help and support them through difficult times.
“We have been overwhelmed by the amount of people who knew you even from afar. You have had an impact on so many people’s lives.
“We are so proud Max to call you our son. Rest in peace Angel. Forever 17. Sleep tight our precious son and brother.”
Three other teenagers, all boys, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Floral tributes and messages were left in memory of Max, including Liverpool FC scarves.
In a new update, Max’s dad Andrew has asked Liverpool supporters to applaud in the 17th minute of Sunday’s game (January 5) at Anfield against Manchester United in memory of his son. In a post on X/Twitter, he posted a picture of Max when he was younger wearing a Liverpool t-shirt and bucket hat against a sea of red scarves, the ECHO reports.
Andrew said: “This is my son Max, we lost Max in a tragic car accident on the December 11 2024. A life long Liverpool fan, can anyone please share and see if we can get a one minute applause at the next home game versus Man Utd in the 17th minute.”
At the time of writing the post has received over 31,000 likes and 10,000 reposts spreading Andrew’s message. Many have sent their condolences to the dad on his loss.
Liverpool supporter and artist Abigail Rudkin said: “17 year old Max Greenhouse sadly died 11/12/24. His family would like Anfield to remember him during the game with a minutes applause on the 17th minute.
