Police are investigating the fire at a house transformed into a community centre that went up in flames. Emergency services were called to the semi-detached house in Lordship Park, Hackney at around 4.30am on December 29.
The ground floor and first floor were damaged by the blaze. No injuries were reported.
The incident was under control by around 6am. The fire is now under investigation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a semi-detached house used as a community centre on Lordship Park in Hackney.
“Half of the ground and first floors of the building were damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
“The Brigade was called at 0427 and the fire was under control by 0606. Fire crews from Stoke Newington, Holloway and Tottenham fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.”
