An East Yorkshire care home embraced the spirit of the festive season by inviting two special guests to their monthly community coffee morning.
Guide Dog Olive and her owner Raven were warmly welcomed at Barchester’s Mallard Court, in Bridlington, as they celebrated Olive’s retirement party in honour of her long service.
The team at the care home wished Olive a joyous retirement, and look forward to welcoming her back in the New Year in her new role as a therapy dog.
Adding to the festivities, Santa Claus also paid a visit to Mallard Court, spreading Christmas cheer among the residents.
General manager Ange Dooley-Widd said: “Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year and our fantastic residents love to get festive so we’ve pulled out all the stops. It is so lovely to see them all getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s definitely my favourite time of year.”
Resident Marion said: “It has been a lovely day. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Christmas spirit. I really enjoyed seeing Olive and to celebrate her many years of service with Raven.”
