A dog walker on Troon beach was the victim of a grim site after discovering two dead cows washed up on the shoreline.
Warnings have been issued following the discovery on a stretch of the South Beach on Monday (December 30) when the two Friesian cows were spotted.
The grim task of removing the animals will likely begin soon, but the Daily Record reports that the public, especially dog walkers on a New Year’s Day stroll, are being asked to stay well clear of the site in the meantime.
Currently, it’s unclear if the animals have come from a local farm, or if they have been washed up from further afield. Local farmers have been asked to check their hear numbers in the meantime.
The dog walker who discovered the animals said: “The Friesian cow cadavers have washed up. They are fresh but my dog picked up on the smell.

“They’re about 100 yards by the kiosk but 500 to 550 yards out. And another smaller one, further out, is at the sandbanks.”
