Good Morning Britain’s entertainment correspondent, Ross King, spoken out about his fears as the Los Angeles wildfires creep closer to his home, as he considers evacuating.
The Motherwell-born TV star, along with other Hollywood Hills residents, has been issued with a mandatory evacuation order due to wildfires in the area. Speaking to Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls, he shared his experience, reports The Mirror.
He said: “We’re under evacuation orders at the moment. They’re not mandatory, but I tell you, it’s such a weird feeling when you’re packing up the car. You know we’re getting everything ready.
“You go round the house and you take photographs and you’re thinking ‘this might be the last time you actually see the house,’ and that’s why your heart breaks when you see so many homes, you know we’re talking about thousands of structures gone.

“I’ve got friends in Malibu who lost their house on a beach, three other people I know have completely lost their homes and when you get that feeling it is one of the weirdest and one of the scariest things that I’ve gone through!”
Ross expressed his disbelief at the disaster, saying he had never witnesses anything so devastating in his 25 years in that part of America, adding: “I’ve never known anything like it in my 25 years here in Los Angeles, and when you look out there and see these firefighters doing the most unbelievable job.
“We’ve been so fortunate that the winds haven’t been too bad in this area. The helicopters could get in, and they could drop a load of water and hopefully put out the majority of the fire that is going on at the moment. But it really is, it’s so scary!”
Fires continue to rage at the Californian city, with at least 10 people dead so far, more than 1,000 structures destroyed and over 150,000 people evacuated from their homes.
Emergency services have struggled to extinguish the fires due to “erratic winds”.
