A Galway restaurant has been left blushing with pride after a customer’s five-star review this week praising the ‘excellent’ service.
Porterhouse in Oranmore have thanked the customer who described their recent experience at the eatery as they praised the food, staff and overall ‘excellent’ atmosphere.
The popular restaurant has been in the village for years and has since garnered a loyal following., so it’s no surprise that the review was glowing.
The review was shared by owners on their social media as they said: “Thanks Colin!”
The review read: “Excellent food, excellent atmosphere and great staff. Advise to book ahead during busy periods, as it is known for its quality so can be quite busy.”
Meanwhile this week, an award-winning Galway eatery has set imaginations running wild after they hinted that they had a major development on the way involving some home improvements.
Smashbird is Galway’s West End’s latest one-stop chicken shop and has been widely feted since joining Birdhouse under Fraser and Orla Scott.
The restaurant opened in late 2023 on Dominick Street and quickly got rave reviews. Smashbird also took a massive five-award haul at the Blas na hÉireann food awards in October 2024, including Best in Galway and Best in Connacht.
In a cryptic post on Instagram on Tuesday, the Smashbird account shared a video of a wall with some dimensions for construction, with a loud knocking noise audible.
“Knock knock… Who’s there? Something exciting is on its way! Stay tuned for what’s coming next,” the caption read.
