The Met Office has once again issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice, with large parts of the country set to be affected.
While the warning zone skirts the outskirts of the city, Glasgow will miss out on it – however parts of North Ayrshire and Argyle and Bute set for snow.
The warning comes into force at noon today (Tuesday, January 7) and remains in place until noon tomorrow (Wednesday, January 8), so it might be worth considering if you plan to travel south.
It comes after multiple warnings over the weekend for the white stuff, with the worst of it hitting parts of northern England and Scotland, causing travel disruption.
The Met Office warning states: “Sleet and snow showers will continue for the rest of Tuesday, before becoming confined to northern and north-eastern parts of the warning area on Wednesday.
“Further accumulations of 2 to 5cm in places, and 5 to 10cm above 200 metres across northern Scotland. Where any modest thaw has occurred, icy stretches are likely on untreated surfaces.”
Meanwhile, in Glasgow, it is expected to be a dry an and sunny day. However it will be cold with temperatures reaching a maximum of 3°C. However, according to the Met Office a westerly breeze will make those temperatures feel a lot colder.
