Full list of Nottinghamshire flood warnings and alerts as flooding of properties ‘expected’

The Environment Agency has warned people to protect their property and loved ones with flooding of properties in parts of Nottinghamshire ‘expected’.

There is particular concern about levels on the River Trent, which remain high, and flooding is expected in Gunthorpe and Lowdham, the Environment Agency said. A spokesperson said: “River levels are high but steady at the Colwick river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of property flooding remains. Areas most at risk are Gunthorpe Riverdale Caravan Park and the A6097 Gunthorpe to Lowdham Road. Gunthorpe Bridge is likely to become impassable to traffic.

“No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until Thursday afternoon 09/01/2025.”

The Environment Agency says that where a flooding is expected people should: protect yourself and your loved ones; move your loved ones, pets and valuables to a safe place; move to higher ground or the upper floor of a building; turn off the gas, electricity and water in your home if it’s safe; put flood protection equipment in place; do as the emergency services tell you and help others if it’s safe to do so.
