Full list of Northern Ireland school closures as PSNI issue travel warning

A number of schools across Northern Ireland have been closed today due to adverse weather.

A further weather warning for ice was issued by the Met Office for parts of Northern Ireland, which remains in place until 10am today, January 10. The warning is in place for Co Antrim, Co Down, Co Derry, and Co Tyrone.

The weather forecaster warned scattered wintry showers may “lead to some icy patches and travel disruption” with a low temperature of -5 forecast.

In a statement on Friday morning, a spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Freezing temperatures throughout Northern Ireland this morning have caused difficult driving conditions in many areas. Please slow down and increase your stopping distance from the vehicle in front. If you’re travelling in an area where the roads are not salted, please exercise extra caution.”

Belleek No 2 Primary School | Corry -Friday 10th January 2025 due to adverse weather.

Ballougry Primary School | 30 Mullenan Road – Friday 10th January 2025 due to adverse weather.

St Theresa’s Primary School Glebe | 33 Garvan Road – Friday 10th January 2025 due to no heating.

Rossmar School | 2 Ballyquin Road – Friday 10th January 2025 due to adverse weather.

St Patrick’s Primary School Rasharkin | 8 Gortahar Road – Friday 10th January 2025 due to no heating.
