He called upon the leader of the Council, Conservative Anne Handley to “provide assurance that this issue will finally be addressed”. Cllr Redshaw suggested measures such as CCTV cameras and additional street lighting could be implemented to try and crack down on illegal dumping and so that “offenders can be brought to account.”
Cllr Handley responded saying, “I completely agree, we need to do something with regards to fly tipping”. The Council leader also assured Cllr Redshaw that she is “more than happy” to set up a meeting to discuss the issue and come up with solutions for the area.”
She added: “I am fully aware the fly tipping in this area is out of control and does need looking at.”
