Five bars and pubs to visit in Hull and East Yorkshire in 2025

There are plenty of pubs, bars and venues to enjoy across Hull and East Yorkshire.

As we’re now into 2025, you might be trying to find a new local, plan some date nights or even just find the perfect beer garden in preparation of summer.

Thankfully, we’ve created a round-up of the five venues we think you should visit in 2025.

The Station Inn

In December 2021, the Station Inn reopened after a painstaking restoration project. When I visited for an hour on Friday lunchtime, I was the first customer of the day.

Walking through the door felt like stepping back in time. With the tiled floors and various black and white photos on the walls, there is a palpable sense of history.

With a roaring log fire, plenty of real ales to try and even a regular pub quiz night – there are plenty of reasons to visit this Beverley Road pub. You can read the full review here.

Lion and Key

This Old Town favourite has a great menu to choose from. The Lion and Key does not do minimal in its décor – there are curios in every corner, old posters and adverts mounted in frames and a ceiling covered in beer mats – and it’s the same story in its enclosed courtyard beer garden.

Better yet, over 65s can enjoy a 20 per cent discount on all drinks and food, every day of the week. You can read the full review here.

The Adelphi

The Adelphi turned 40 this year, and with generations of musicians come through the doors to perform on stage, it’s the perfect place to visit if you love some live music alongside your pint.

With a weekly music night every Monday, dubbed the ‘longest running event’ like this in the UK, this place is a gateway for young performers to get their first taste of the stage. You can read more about it here.

With generations of musicians come through the doors to perform on stage at the legendary Adelphi, it certainly gives off a different vibe to others on this list. Must more down to earth in aesthetic, with the walls covered of upcoming gig posters. With a free weekly music night for all to get involved with every Monday, which is “probably” the longest running event like this in the UK.

Three B’s Micropub

Recently named as the best pub in Yorkshire by CAMRA, this small family-run pub is a delight.

This place might be small, but don’t let it fool you, it’s rather mighty. From walking in, the pub was kitted out with old tap labels of all the different ales and ciders the place had throughout the years – instantly giving the reassurance that this place knows its beverages.

The Three Tuns

We asked for you to vote for the best beer garden and this was your winner.

This Boothferry Road pub features great pints and plenty of pictures of the good old days. As we all look forward to summer, this beer garden has a few wooden booths to hide away from the elements – complete with murals of sports teams Hull FC, Hull City and Hull KR.
