Emergency services rushed to a main road in Bolton after a collision between a fire engine and car. Firefighters were called to Chorley New Road at around 9.10am this morning following reports of the incident.
Four people involved in the smash were assessed by the North West Ambulance Service. Two fire engines from Bolton Central Community Fire Station and the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station arrived quickly and worked alongside Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe.
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At around 9.10am this morning (Monday 30 December), firefighters were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a fire engine and a car on Chorley New Road, Bolton.
“Two fire engines from Bolton Central Community Fire Station and the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station arrived quickly and worked alongside Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe. Four casualties were assessed at the scene by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and ten minutes.”
Greater Manchester Police has been approached for comment.
