Weather shows when the snow is forecast to batter Britain
Britain is set to be battered by another onslaught of snow as a weather map forecasts the exact time the white stuff will arrive. It comes as the bitterly cold weather has been predicted to last the rest of January.
Ventusky Meteorologists say the east coast of England and Wales will be hit by wintry showers from 3pm, before moving eastwards as the afternoon gives way to the evening. The snowfall is expected to cover the most ground, from as far south as Hampshire and as far north as Ayrshire in Scotland, at 6pm this evening.
The heaviest downpours are expected in Cheshire and Merseyside, where Liverpool face Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup at Anfield. However, the 12.15pm game will be over before the worst of the weather has a chance to disrupt proceedings.

Horse racing fixtures at Wetherby and Warwick amoung other venues have already been abandoned because the tracks is set to be frozen throughout the day. On Thursday, temperatures plunged to lows of -12.4C in northern Scotland and -11C in Shap, Cumbria.
And the snow is expected to hit some areas of the UK tomorrow as well. Most of Wales is expected to be hit by the white stuff, with the east near the English border the worst effected.
Parts of the Midlands will see flurries in the evening as the band of pressure moves eastwards. The Met Office’s forecast for today reads: “A frosty morning for many with fog stubbornly clearing, leaving a bright afternoon with plenty of sunny spells.

“Cloudier further west with light rain and hill snow spreading across Northern Ireland, into western Scotland, and lingering in the far southwest. A milder night to come in the west, where low cloud spreading slowly eastwards brings areas of patchy light drizzle. Cold elsewhere, with a widespread frost developing beneath clear skies.”
Meanwhile Sunday’s prediction states: “Rather cloudy with the best of the sunshine in the southwest. Persistent rain spreads across the far northwest. Still chilly in the southeast, but temperatures recovering closer to average elsewhere.”
