ESB Networks is offering free hot meals and phone charging points to those without power in North Cork as crews continue to work on repairing network faults.
It’s been a tough few days for affected families. Some areas like Charleville have seen up to sixteen inches of snowfall, making even a quick trip to the shop difficult.
Being without power presents its own set of challenges, with some households having to rely on old-school methods just to make a simple cup of tea.
ESB has assured customers that crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible. As a gesture of goodwill, the company has organised hot meals for customers at several hotels in Munster on Wednesday and Thursday – including the Charleville Park Hotel.

The company has urged customers to only drive to the hotels if it’s safe to do so. Each hotel will provide a hot meal, dessert, tea or coffee, charging ports, and the option to fill a takeaway flask.
To avail of the service customers will need to provide their MPRN, which can be found on their electricity bill. The notice was sent out to affected customers in recent days and you can find the times for Thursday below.
